Aloma Idris reveals Kano Pillars' NPFL title bid plan

Kano Pillars defender Aloma Idris has revealed his side's target of going 10 matches without defeat in a late push to clinch the Nigerian topflight crown.

A 1-1 draw at ABS was the Sai Masu Gida side's fifth encounter without defeat and the former Rivers United man believes they can maintain the run against Wikki Tourist on Sunday.

"We [Kano Pillars] are doing well now and a lot has improved with the team with every game," Idris told Goal.

''Though we missed our coach Kadiri Ikhana, it has been the same coaching program we have continued to adopt since he left. The difference is that we’ve rediscovered our good form.

"The new coaches are doing well too and are really working hard to get the best out of the players. Same time, we the players had to challenge ourselves that we cannot disappoint the fans knowing the pedigree of the club and also bearing in mind that some of us are big and experienced players in the league.

"I believe this is not the position where the team ought to be and we just want to contend for the title and get the team back to the position it rightly belongs.

"We have already taken an oath that we are going to 10 matches without defeat. And we already had five already, we won at home against Lobi Stars, went to 3SC to pick a draw before coming back to win at home against Sunshine Stars.

"We also defeated MFM at home and picked a draw against ABS in Ilorin, but our sixth game against Rivers United was postponed due to their Caf Confederation Cup match.

"For Wikki Tourists, it is a northern derby in Bauchi but Wikki needs to work very harder if not they will cry badly in front of their fans. I'm sure we can comeback with at least a point there."
