Birgen returned to training on Tuesday after missing the soldiers’ first match of the season against Zoo Kericho last weekend. Team Doctor John Imboiywa has confirmed that Birgen should be fit for selection in the trip to Awendo.
“Birgen returned to training this week and with him it has been all positive. His recovery was on course and from my end I’d say he is fit enough,” Imboiywa told the club’s official website.
Head coach Dunstan Nyaudo will however; be without two key forwards – Enosh Ochieng and Oscar Wamalwa. Enosh suffered a metatarsal sprain in the win over Zoo FC and after x-rays, it was found out the injury would keep him off for the coming game.
Wamalwa, on the other hand, picked an ankle sprain in the friendly match against Nakuru AllStars on Wednesday February 7, which Ulinzi Stars won 2-0.
“Enosh sustained a 5th metartasal sprain of the right foot in the Zoo match. "We did x-ray, which ruled out a fracture but he will be out for 2 weeks.
"Wamalwa on the other hand, sustained an ankle sprain in a friendly match and will also not be available this weekend.”
