Ukraine vs England Team News

Ukraine are set to miss Artem Bessedin who suffered a horror clash with Marcus Danielson - he could be sidelined until next year - in the Round of 16 duties against Sweden.

Oleksandr Zubkov could be back after he recovered from a calf problem and could be in contention for starting duty against England. A thigh injury, however, has forced Denys Popov to withdraw.

Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell completed their self-isolation periods and could be considered for duties against Ukraine in Italy. Bookings for Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips against Germany may force Gareth Southgate to look for alternatives in the Saturday game.

Ukraine vs England Preview

Each of England’s previous three quarter-final matches at the European Championship has gone to extra time and penalties – after progressing from the first of these against Spain in 1996, England lost in the penalty shootouts against Portugal in 2004 and Italy in 2012.

England are only the second side in European Championship history not to concede in any of their first four games of an edition of the tournament, after Germany in 2016. The only team to have kept a clean sheet in each of their opening five games of a World Cup or European Championship was Italy in 1990.

Coming into the quarter-final matches, only Italy (2.1) have less shots faced than England (2.7) at Euro 2020. England have faced just eight shots on target in their four games (2 per game), their lowest ratio on record in a major tournament (since the 1966 World Cup and since the 1980 European Championship).

Ukraine vs England Tips and Predictions
