A look back at Chelsea's journey in the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League knockout stages...
Chelsea could become the third English side to win the UEFA Europa League twice when face Arsenal in an all-English showdown in Baku on Thursday.

Since winning the 2012-13 edition by beating Portugal's Benfica in the final, the West London side featured in the competition for the first time this time around. Although Champions League football returns at Stamford Bridge next season after finishing third in the Premier League, it presents Maurizio Sarri a chance to deliver a trophy in his very first season at Chelsea.

After winning their group which had the likes of BATE Borisov, MOL Vidi and PAOK, Chelsea were drawn against Malmo FF of Sweden in the Round of 32. Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud played crucial roles as they registered a 5-1 aggregate victory.

Onto the Round of 16s, it was a complete mismatch with Ukraine's Dynamo Kyiv hardly putting in much resistance. Chelsea's best player, Eden Hazard was left as an unused substitute in both legs as a 3-0 win at home was followed up by a 5-0 win away. Olivier Giroud got a hat-trick in Kiev as Chelsea trounced the Eastern European club 8-0 on aggregate.

After a narrow 1-0 win in the first leg of their quarterfinal game against Slavia Praha, the Czech outfit gave them a scare at the Bridge after they made it 4-3 on the night with more than half an hour to go. If Chelsea had conceded two more, they would be eliminated, but they held on, winning 5-3 on aggregate.

German side Eintracht Frankfurt were not an easy side to beat in the semi-finals. After twin 1-1 draws in both legs, the tie went into extra time at Stamford Bridge. Ultimately, Chelsea emerged winners in the penalty shootout after some brilliance by Kepa Arrizabalaga in the shootout. Cesar Azpilicueta missed from the spot while Barkley, Jorginho, David Luiz and Hazard scored to take the Blues to Baku.
