Swansea City boss Carvalhal hopeful of Bony and Abraham early return

Swansea City manager, Carlos Carvalhal is optimistic of an early return for Wilfried Bony and Tammy Abraham.

Bony suffered a hamstring injury in December against Everton and has missed four games while Abraham is suffering from a stomach problem.

Prior to being sidelined, the Cote d'Ivoire international boasts of two goals while Abraham has five goals to his name though he has failed to find the net since October.

In the absence of the players, the Liberty Stadium outfit succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur and the gaffer is hoping for a change in fortune with the return of his star strikers.

“I believe Bony and Abraham will be available soon, along with Ki,” Carvalhal told club website.

“These are players we need to have.

“Today (Tuesday) we didn’t have a striker to play. You could say to me why didn’t I play with Oliver, but you know he has not played 90 minutes very often.

“That means that probably after 60 or 70 minutes he would have to come off, and then who would I bring on if we need a goal? That’s why we prepared for the game in a different way.”

The Portuguese tactician will be looking to welcome his attackers when his side visit Newcastle United for their next top-flight duel on January 13.
