Gernot Rohr’s men need a victory against Hugo Broos’ side to brighten their chances of qualifying for the 2018 Fifa World Cup Russia.
And Pinnick, who doubles as a member of the Confederation of African Football executive committee has charged Rohr’s men to play with zeal against the Cameroonians who are in dire need of a victory.
“This is a very crucial match and the players know so. The Cameroonians are not coming here to simply appraise the serenity and beauty of the city of Uyo; they are coming to contest the three points,” Pinnick told NFF media.
“The Super Eagles must throw everything – their body, heart and spirit – into the game. Those three points are very important to our FIFA World Cup qualification campaign, and I am confident we will get them.”
John Obi Mikel is expected to lead the Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday evening. The return leg holds at the Stade Omnisports Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaounde on Monday.
