Sofiane Boufal’s winning goal against West Bromwich Albion has been named 2017-18 English Premier League Goal of the Season.
After picking the ball from his own half, Boufal skipped past five West Brom players before curling a shot past Ben Foster.
The solo strike earned the winger two honours in October - Southampton and Premier League Goal of the Month.
Boufal who ended the 2017-18 league season with two goals from 28 games was a prominent omission from Morocco’s 23-man squad for the 2018 Fifa World Cup .
However, the former Lille has reacted to the recognition and appreciated his fans’ for standing by him 'even in a difficult situation'.
"It’s a honour to be awarded the best goal of the season in the Premier League. Thanks to all people that support me even in a difficult situation,” Boufal tweeted.
