Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest have announced the transfer of South African midfielder May Mahlangu to Bulgarian giants Ludogorets Razgrad.
The 29-year-old had been with Bucharest since 2016, and following eye-catching performances in the Romanian elite league, Razgrad came knocking for his services.
Mahlangu made 72 appearances for Bucharest during his two-year spell and found the back of the net three times in the process.
Bucharest took to their website to announce Mahlangu's immediate move to Razgrad on Tuesday, and thanked the player for his contribution to the club's success over the years.
In May 2017, Mahlangu became the first South African to win Cupa Ligi with Bucharest, making 27 appearances for the club during that period.
"FC Dinamo Bucharest and PFC Ludogorets Razgrad have reached an agreement today for the definitive transfer of May Mahlangu (29-year-old) to the Bulgarian champion," said Bucharest in a statement.
"Transferring to the club in Stefan cel Mare two years ago, May Mahlangu gathered 72 matches and scored three goals for Dinamo in all competitions," said the Romanian club.
"FC Dinamo Bucharest thanks May Mahlangu for the white-red jersey and wishes him a lot of success with his new team!" concluded the statement.
Ludogorets are campaigning in the 2018-19 Uefa Europa League as they aim to qualify for the group stages and possibly go all the way in the competition.
The Secunda-born midfielder has been overlooked by national team selectors since his move to Romania, and he will hope for a change of fortunes now that he will be moving to Romania.
He has won just 16 Bafana Bafana caps since making his international debut in 2012 despite spending his entire professional career abroad.
