Simba SC have revealed that Jonas Mkude’s injury is not as bad as first feared, although he will be out of training for two to three days.
The Wekundu wa Msimbazi fans feared the worst when the midfielder was withdrawn from Monday's training session in tears after twisting his left foot ankle.
Releasing the news via Official Simba Website, the team doctor, Yassin Gembe has explained that the injury is not bad as first feared and the midfielder will be making a return in time for the trip to face Njombe Mji on April 3.
“It is still early to say anything regarding Mkude’s injury but the medical team is working hard so that the player can recover as quick as possible, and if possible join his team mates in the coming two or three days” said Dr. Gembe.
Simba who lead the Ligi Kuu table with 46 points are going to face a tricky list fixtures after the international break with three away outings.
On April 3 they will be at Njombe to play against Njombe Mji, six days later they will be in Morogoro to play against Mtibwa Sugar.
The Ligi Kuu leaders will travel again to play Lipuli on April 20 before hosting their arch rival Yanga on April 29 who are behind them on only goal differences.
