Gent defender Sigurd Roster is looking forward to a ‘special’ clash with Bordeaux’s Samuel Kalu when they face each other in Thursday’s Uefa Europa League qualifying encounter.
Having reached an agreement with the Girondins in August, Kalu signed a deal that would keep him at the French Ligue 1 side until 2023.
He was given a starting berth for the Matmut Atlantique outfit in their 2-1 loss to Toulouse in the club’s French top-flight fixture on Sunday.
However, Yves Vanderhaeghe’s charges will be aiming to capitalise on the home advantage with a victory in the first leg of the Europa League playoffs when they host their French contenders.
“Playing against Samuel Kalu will be special because we know him well. Nana [Asare] probably knows him even better. Let's hope he [Asare] can stop him [Kalu] tomorrow,”
