Shabba returns to boost Kaizer Chiefs, Khumalo still sidelined with knee injury

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala will return to training on Wednesday following his recovery from a strained muscle, the club confirmed.

This means Shabba will be available for selection when the Glamour Boys travel to Polokwane to face Polokwane City on Saturday night.

“The injury required some rest to heal properly,” Amakhosi's physiotherapist David Milner said.

“He has recovered now and will resume full training on Wednesday,” he confirmed.

The return to fitness of Shabba will come as a huge relief for coach Steve Komphela, especially with Willard Katsande unavailable for the trip to Polokwane due to suspension.

Shabba joins Kgotso Moleko on the list of returnees. The full-back returned to training after shaking off a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Sibusiso Khumalo will be sidelined for the next 10 days with the knee ligament injury he sustained against SuperSport United two weeks ago.

“Sibusiso Khumalo is nursing a knee ligament. He will be out of action for the next ten days,” Milner revealed.
