Jonathan Kodjia has not hidden his delight after his brace handed Aston Villa a testing 2-2 draw against Brentford.

Despite Villa’s early dominance, Neal Maupay powered home an unstoppable shot past goalkeeper Oerjan Haaskjold Nyland.

Six minutes before halftime, Kodjia got past two defenders to drill home the equaliser, only for Maupay to restore the Bees’ advantage in the 82nd minute.

However, the Cote d’Ivoire international’s last-gasp header ensured they maintained their fine start to the season.

“Really enjoyed it tonight. As usual great support till the 90+6 to give us on the pitch the strength and beliefs never to be beaten. Let's go again all together on Saturday,” the 28-year-old tweeted.

He is expected to lead the Villans when they welcome Reading to Villa Park in their next league encounter.
