Abu Bakar Fadzim disappointed with Gi-sung and Sokpheng

PKNP FC's head coach Abu Bakar Fadzim is already firing warning shots to 2 of his forward players to buck up or be ready to be shipped out.

Three matches into their debut Super League season, Abu Bakar Fadzim is already worried that the poor performances from his attacking department will cost his team dearly. Only one goal has been scored in the 270 minutes of top flight football that they have played and it's a worrying sight.

Having done well in finishing third in the Premier League last season, PKNP were handed a promotional spot following the change of structure at T-Team FC. Beating fellow Super League newcomer Negeri Sembilan in the opening match, PKNP started out strongly but two straight defeats after that puts things into perspective.

Cambodian Keo Sokpheng is the only scorer thus far for the team but he is one of two players that Abu Bakar is currently unhappy with. The other is ironically, also Sokpheng's team mate from his time back in the Cambodian league - Yeon Gi-Sung.

"Sokpheng and Gi-sung was chosen because they have already proven their combination while with Phnom Penh Crown last year. So the understanding between them shouldn't be an issue, what more with the number of goals they scored with their old club."

"But apart from the first match, they looked lost in the subsequent matches against JDT and Kedah. After three matches, I can't be pleased with the way they perform as they've only achieved 50% of what I hoped from them."

"I will of course give them chances to improve but if it doesn't, then I'm forced to take drastic action by terminating their contract in the mid-season window," said Abu Bakar in a Berita Harian report.

It wasn't easy for PKNP in their first foray to be facing star studded Johor Darul Ta'zim and Kedah this early in the campaign. While they weren't expected to take much out from those two matches in particular, it was the manner of performances which seemed to concerned Abu Bakar, more than the result.

From their squad last season, PKNP only maintained Ritus Kraujklis in their team this season. The centre back is joined by another two imports in fellow centre back Nikolv Luben Gueorguiev and midfielder Franklin Anzite.
