The Bos Gaurus intend to gain momentum from the get go, in the 2017 Malaysia Super League.

Dato 'Jamal Mohd Aris, the PAFA honorary secretary and Perak team manager told a local radio station in an interview with the team, that they want to win their first league match.

"I am hoping we will gain momentum from the first game, because if we start with a win then God willing, it (the campaign) will also end in success.

"I hope the players we have signed will ensure a win in the first match," he said in the interview, as quoted by the Perak website.

In the meantime, the squad will continue with their pre-season preparations, and Jamal is hoping that the commitment will be translated into a strong support by the fans.

"We still have time to decide on the first eleven, and preparations will be continued to further strengthen the squad this season.

"It's a new chapter for the team and we hope the fans can provide a strong support for the team," he added.

Meanwhile, Perak's new signing Shahrom Kalam said that the Bos Gaurus are going all out this season.

"We have to be realistic in our expectations of becoming Super League contenders.

"We hope to qualify for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup as well as league title contenders," said the Malaysia centre back.

Perak will begin their 2017 Super League campaign at home, the Perak Stadium against Pahang on January 21. In the meantime, they will play FAM Cup side UKM FC in a pre-season friendly at the UKM Mini Stadium this Saturday, January 14 at 8.45 pm.
