Panama vs Tunisia: TV channel, live stream, squad news & preview

This is one of the few games in the final round of fixtures in the group stage with nothing riding on it. England and Belgium have already qualified with two wins apiece, but this is still a big game for both Panama and Tunisia.

Tunisia are looking for their first World Cup win since their first ever appearance at the tournament in 1978, while Panama will be hoping to pick up either their first win or their first point in a World Cup on their tournament debut.

This looks like being a tight game between the two sides, who are looking to create history for their respective nations in the process.

Squads & Team News

PositionPanama players
Goalkeepers Calderon, Penedo, A.Rodriguez
Defenders Baloy, Cummings, Davis, Escobar, Murillo, Machado, Ovalle, R.Torres
Midfielders J.Rodriguez, Barcenas, Cooper, Godoy, Gomez, Pimentel, Quintero
Forwards Arroyo, Diaz, Perez, Tejada, G.Torres

Panama were hammered 6-1 by England last time out but Felipe Baloy's late consolation goal was the first they have scored at a World Cup. Román Torres is the poster boy and captain of this Panama side and he will be hoping to lead his side to their first ever points at a World Cup against Tunisia.

Potential Panama XI:  Penedo; Murillo, Escobar, Torres, Gomez, Perez, Barcenas, Cooper, Davis, Godoy, Rodriguez

PositionTunisia players
Goalkeepers Ben Mustapha, Manhlouthi, Hassen
Defenders S.Ben Youssef, Benalouane, Meriah, Haddadi, Bedoui, Bronn, Maaloul, Naguez
Midfielders Sassi, Ben Amor, Skhiri, Khalil, Chaalali, Sliti
Forwards F.Ben Youssef, Srarfi, Khalifa, Badri, Khazri, Khaoui

Tunisia are hoping they will get special dispensation from FIFA to call up another goalkeeper. Mouez Hassen was injured against England while Farouk Ben Mustapha is doubtful after sustaining an injury in training on Tuesday, leaving them with just Aymen Mathlouthi between the sticks.

Also providing a headache is the unavailability of right-back Dylan Bronn and centre-back Syam Ben Youssef who were forced off injured in the first half of last Saturday’s 5-2 loss to Belgium.

Potential Tunisia XI:  Mathlouthi, Naguez, Benalouane, Meriah, Maaloul, Skhiri, Sassi, Khaui, Badri, F.Ben Youssef, Khazri

Match Preview

Felipe Baloy Panama England

Tunisia are the favourites to come out as the winners in this one after putting in decent showings in defeats by the top two in Group G.

The star player on show is likely to be Wahbi Khazri, who has shown why he initially earned a move to then-Premier League side Sunderland in 2016 in his first two games.

Though much of the attention on the final Group G fixtures will be on England against Belgium, for these two teams and countries this is a massive fixture as they look to round off their tournaments on a positive note.
