Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena attracts SuperSport United and Polokwane City interest

Goal understands that the former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant has been offered a head coach role by two Premier Soccer League sides

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena has attracted interest from Polokwane City and SuperSport United, Goal can reveal.

Both Rise and Shine and Matsatsantsa narrowly survived relegation on the last day of the season and are on the lookout for a new coach.

After Luc Eymael’s departure for Free State Stars, Polokwane handed former team manager Bernard Molekwa the reins, while Kaitano Tembo took over at SuperSport after Eric Tinkler’s resignation.

Alongside Milutin Sredojević, Mokwena has been highly applauded for Pirates' dramatic turnaround.

The Buccaneers disappointingly finished 11th in the 2016/2017 campaign but impressively finished second in the recently completed campaign.

Goal understands, however, that Mokwena is fully focused on his current gig with the Mayfair side and is keen on staying put ahead of Pirates' Caf Champions League safari next campaign.
