Enugu Rangers head coach Gbenga Ogunbote is happy with the display of his men in their 2-0 win over Crime Busters in a friendly on Thursday evening.

The Flying Antelopes piped El Kanemi Warriors 1-0 through Kelvin Itoya's lone strike last Sunday before Chiamaka Madu and Ebuka Okeke scored in each half to see off Enugu based side.

And the tactician has applauded his Nigeria Professional Football League side's progress after the win over the Nigeria National League side.

Yusuf Ibrahim was brought down by Buster's defender inside the box and Madu scored from the penalty spot in the 35th minute.

Substitute Okeke doubled the lead, which eventually turned the winner with a beautiful strike in the 70th minute.

And Ogunbote admits the encounter had helped him see more potentials of the team and eager to challenge at the top-level in Africa, not just Nigeria.

"I'm happy we had this sort of friendly game to assess ourselves since we will not be playing a match this weekend," Ogunbote told Goal.

"I also had the chance to see some players returning from injuries and glad they gave us a really tough match to properly see the best of my boys.

"We are making good progress and I'm glad some of the new players, who got the opportunity to play were really impressive.

"We will look out for more friendlies to get ourselves prepared for coming league matches."

They will engage another local unnamed local side in a friendly match on Saturday ahead of their next league clash against Kano Pillars.
