Relief as Kenyan league managers explain that 2017 season will start as had been planned
Kenyan Premier League CEO Jack Oguda has clarified that the league will start as had been planned.
Six matches are on cards for the first two days of the 2017 KPL season and Oguda has explained to Goal that nothing has changed. “We hereby confirm that all league matches scheduled for this weekend are on.”
His statement is a clarification of a court order obtained by Sofapaka on Friday at a Nairobi High Court which was perceived to be a stoppage to the league commencement.
It then means that defending champions Tusker will host returnees Nzoia United at Afraha Stadium as newbies Nakumatt travel to Mbaraki stadium to play against Bandari the way it was planned before.
Mathare United will then play Thika United at Thika Sub-county Stadium where Kariobangi Sharks will play host against Gor Mahia in a late kick-off on Sunday.
Sony Sugar and Zoo Kericho will also host Chemelil Sugar and Posta Rangers respectively on the same day.
