Niger Tornadoes feeders’ Abdulrauf Yusuf eyes upset against Enugu Rangers

Niger Tornadoes feeders coach Abdulrauf Yusuf believes his side is capable of subduing Enugu Rangers in a Federation Cup Round of 64 clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Tuesday.

The Nigeria Nationwide League side had a good outing in 2015, defeating Dolphins to reach the quarterfinal before bowing to Akwa United and are hoping to repeat same fairytale run this term.

Having eliminated Kogi United feeders 4-0 in the playoffs last Wednesday, the gaffer is confident they can hold their own against the seven-time Nigerian league kings in Ibadan.

“We are playing one of the biggest team in the country but we are not scared of them at all,” Yusuf told Goal.

“We’ve prepared well for this game and fully ready to confront them. It is our wish to do well and we are eager to prove our worth as a young side and get a good result in the end.

“We are fully aware we’re up against a team rich in resources and quality but as you all know, football is about 11-11 players on the pitch and I believe my boys to put up a strong mentality and try to make name for themselves.

“We really don’t know much about them [Enugu Rangers] but we have prepared ourselves and look to give it our best shot. I believe we can do it because nothing is impossible. We did it back in 2015 and look up to God for luck again.”
