Noel Gallagher would spare two Man Utd players tea duty at City

Marcus Rashford and David de Gea are the only two Manchester United players Noel Gallagher would spare tea duty at derby rivals City.

The Oasis star is famed for his passionate support of City and can be spotted regularly attending games at the Etihad Stadium.

He will form part of a global audience this weekend when the Blues take in their next Premier League fixture – a trip to Old Trafford to take on arch-rivals United.

The respective sides of Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho currently occupy the top two spots in the table, with both harbouring serious title ambitions, but Gallagher claims only two of those from the red half of Manchester would be of any use over in the blue.

“I’d take [Marcus] Rashford,” he told the Premier League’s official website.

“I’d have Rashford on the bench and I’d have [David] De Gea on the bench.

“Rashford, though, he’s dangerous. I like him. And the keeper has pretty much kept United in the league the last three or four years.

“But other than that, they’re all making the tea that mob.”

Goal found room for slightly more United stars in our combined derby XI, but debate continues to rage as to who would make the grade if two old adversaries joined forces.

City can, however, have few complaints with those already on their books.

Guardiola’s side remain unbeaten in the Premier League through 15 fixtures, with an eight-point lead opened up at the English top-flight summit.

They are also safely through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and last-16 of the Champions League, with a first defeat of the season across all competitions suffered in midweek during a trip to Shakhtar Donetsk.
