Nigeria striker Chinwendu Ihezuo joins Henan Huishang

Chinese Women's Super League side Henan Huishang has completed the signing of Nigeria striker Chinwendu Ihezuo from BIIK Kazygurt on a two-year deal.

The 21-year-old joined Kazygurt in 2016 and was outstanding for the Kazakhstan champions, scoring 16 goals in 20 appearances, including in the Uefa Women's Champions League.

Following her title-winning feat with Nigeria at the 2018 African Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana, Ihezuo decided to end her two-year journey with the Shymkent based outfit.

Having left her Kazakhstan side, she welcomed interests from the Asian nation, where she has finally settled down in to continue her career.

Ihezuo, who was absent from Nigeria's ongoing Women's World Cup preparation camp in Spain, is expected to team up with compatriot Onome Ebi at Henan.

She becomes the fourth Nigerian to sign for a Chinese outfit since 2016 and fifth African after Ghana's Elizabeth Addo, Nigeria's Francisca Ordega, South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana and Linda Molthalo.

Ihezuo wasted no time to announce her arrival in China, scoring three minutes into her debut game for Henan.
