Despite winning just one game all season, the gaffer says his side will muscle their way out from the relegation waters before season end

Niger Tornadoes will not drop down to the Nigeria National League at the end of the ongoing Nigeria Professional football League season, the coach of the Minna-based team, Hamza Abara has declared.

The Ikon-Allah boys lost again last weekend in Port Harcourt against Rivers United and are firmly rooted to the bottom of the table in Group A with 10 points from 14 games.

However, while all are pointing at a disastrous season for Tornadoes, Coach Abara has emphatically declared that his team will beat the drop despite losing six games already in the current campaign.

He nonetheless insists that he has implicit confidence in his youthful side that they would soon turn the table and thus secure the needed points that will guarantee their place among the elite division teams next season.

“Mark my words, Tornadoes will not be relegated at the end of this season, we have drawn our strategy and it shall work,” Abara told the media.

“These are a young crop of players who are trying to grow up and we are nursing them to reach where we want them to be, very soon the results will start coming."

Only recently, the Niger State Government announced the dissolution of the management board of the Niger Tornadoes owing to the team’s spate of poor results in the ongoing topflight season.

The government has since appointed a sole administrator to steady the ship of the troubled side.

Niger Tornadoes will be hosting Wikki Tourists in the next round of games in the NPFL this weekend before back-to-back-away matches against Remo Stars and then Bendel Insurance who are also neck-deep in the relegation waters.
