Ngoma: Bafana Bafana will give Nigeria a good run for their money

Cape Town City winger Aubrey Ngoma, who earned a call-up for the clash, believes that Bafana Bafana have it takes to see off the Super Eagles in their own backyard.

“It’s my first time with the national team and it’s been good. The guys have shown a lot of commitment towards the coach’s instructions,” Ngoma told the media.

“I think the last couple of days went well with the training sessions and everyone gave their all. We are looking forward to the game,” Ngoma said.

The Nigerians have proven to be Bafana’s bogey side over the years, as they are undefeated against the South Africans in official matches since 1992.

Ngoma though, is adamant they have a chance to upset the odds despite the fact that they will be playing away from home.

“Nigeria have been our hoodoo team but we’ve been preparing well,” Ngoma said.

“We’ve been watching their games (on video). They have called up new faces. I think they are looking to rebuild. We’ve got the experience in the team currently and I think we are in good shape to give them a run for their money,” Ngoma continued.

From a personal point of view, Ngoma is looking to make the most of the opportunity given to him to represent Bafana Bafana.

“If I do get a chance, I’m hoping to take it with both hands,” Ngoma concluded.
