Negeri stayed on 12 points and bottom of the league standings after their latest loss at Tunku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi as visitors PKNP FC grabbed a late winner to further dampen any hopes of Negeri of staying in the Super League.
Nicolas Velez had equalised for the home side after Hafiz Ramdan had put the away side ahead just after the hour mark. Kim Sangwoo came out with the winning goal for Abu Bakar Fadzim's team in the 84th minute to give PKNP a 1-2 win.
With only three matches remaining for Negeri and them being eight points away from safety, they are now left with no choice but to win all three of their remaining matches and then hope that results elsewhere go their way.
Over at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bahru, Melaka United stole two points away from Kelantan after Yahor Zubovich's injury time penalty earned both sides only a point each following a 1-1 draw. Newly capped Shafiq Shaharudin opened the scoring in the 11th minute and for a long time, Kelantan thought they have three points in the bag.
In 11th place in the standings, the situation is also dire for Kelantan as they now trailed 10th place Kuala Lumpur by five points. Meanwhile Melaka need another one more point to secure their place in next season's Super League.
At Shah Alam Stadium, PKNS FC routed Terengganu FC 4-0 as K. Rajagopal's side grabbed two goals in each half. Bruno Matos started the ball rolling with a 16th minute penalty before Zachary Anderson added the second before half time.
Jafri Firdaus Chew also got on the act, scoring in the 66th minute and the thrashing was sealed by Matos in the 79th minute. The win gives PKNS a real chance of pipping Terengganu in the league table as they are now only separated by one solitary point.
Finally, in a clash between two teams eyeing for the second spot, Perak and Pahang had to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Perak Stadium in Ipoh. It was two early goals in the first half from Pahang's Norshahrul Idlan Talaha and Perak replying through Norhakim Hassan, all before half an hour of football had been played.
The draw means Perak stayed two points ahead a trio of Pahang, Kedah and Terengganu who are all on 30 points. Perak will be looking to clinch the runners-up spot and book a place in the 2019 AFC Champions League play-off round.
