Mutiu Adepoju desires Kelechi Nwakali in Russia bound Super Eagles

Former Super Eagles player, Mutiu Adepoju is rooting for the inclusion of Kelechi Nwakali in the World Cup-bound Nigeria’s senior national team because of his outstanding performance aginst Atletico Madrid.

Adepoju, who is the coordinator of LaLiga office in Nigeria, affirmed that the Arsenal player earned his rave review with the way held the midfield firmly against the Spanish side and the beautiful goal he scored too.

He also thumbed up the performance of Chidiebere Nwakali and Ikouwem Utin and he reckoned that the Eagles have a bright future with the newly discovered players in the fixture with the Spaniards.

“I am very excited. We saw a very good game between the Super Eagles and Atletico Madrid and I think that the Eagles gave a good account of themselves,” Adepoju told Goal.

“It is not about winning but to raise a team that could develop into the main Super Eagles and we have seen some players who are ready to step up from this game like Kelechi and Chidiebere Nwakali and a lot of them.

“I believe that they (Eagles B) had a great game looking at the opposition they faced. They just won the Europa League competition and they have been training together for a long period of time, unlike the Nigerian team that only trained for a few days.

“If I have the power to include more players in the World Cup-bound Super Eagles I would have included Kelechi Nwakali. You can see the type of goal he scored and his overall game with the way he coordinated the midfield against Atletico Madrid while the left fullback Ikouwem Udoh and Chidiebere Nwakali are among my choice because they had a good game.”
