Moses Adenrele charges Abia Warriors players to remain focused

Abia Warriors’ Moses Adenrele has charged the players of the team to remain focused and disciplined in order to achieve their set objectives for the new season which is due to start soon.

The Umuahia side have shifted the remaining part of their pre-season activities to Nanka which is at Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State and the team is expected to have practice sessions and friendly games in the area before going back to Umuahia to fine-tune the build-up to the 2018-19 season.

Adenrele who took over from Emmanuel Deutsch whom he assistant last season disclosed that only dedication to the assignment at hand and serious hard work can enable them to surpass their feat of last season where they got to the group stages of the Federation Cup and also finished eighth in the top flight.

The new coach pointed out that he is more than satisfied with what his players have given him thus far in the friendly matches they have played in Abakaliki and Uyo where they have featured in about seven games and only narrowly losing twice and that the idea of camping in Nanka is to enable the players to train more together and bond together as a team.

“We are starting this camping for us a purpose. I want you to understand that you have come here for a purpose and it is to enable you all to be fully focused,” Adenrele told Abia Warriors Media.

“There will be camp rules for all to abide with. We have come here to prepare ourselves towards the league and I want everybody to play up to his best to ensure that we achieve the objectives of why we came here. We are going to do things together as a team and I won’t like anybody to break camp ethics. We need to prepare ourselves for the challenges ahead. We will need everybody’s cooperation.

“The management has done a lot to ensure that we are here. We must lift up to the billing and also justify the huge investment the management has had on the team. We need to put everything in order before the league starts. We need to work hard and we also need to try our best to ensure we achieve something at the end of the season.”

36 players and 14 officials of Abia Warriors left Umuahia for Nanka for the close camping exercise and they have since resumed training at the Neros Sports Stadium, Nanka while the length of their stay has not been ascertained.
