Jones the favourite for Stoke job


Luton manager Nathan Jones has emerged as the favourite for the Stoke City job, reports The Sun.

Stoke sacked manager Gary Rowett on Tuesday with the club in 14th place in the Championship. 

Jones got Luton promoted from League Two to League One last season, and has the club eyeing another promotion with the Hatters currently in second place. 

Dalian Yifang chasing Payet


Chinese side Dalian Yifang are interested in Marseille star Dimitri Payet, according to France Football. 

The 31-year-old could triple his current salary if he moves to Dailan Yifang, who are prepared to offer up to €30 million (£27m/$34m) for his services. 

Though they could recoup a huge fee for a player on the wrong side of 30, Marseille are still reluctant to let their captain depart the club. 

Wolves to petition FIFA over Abraham transfer


Wolves are set to ask FIFA for help in securing a deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, reports The Sun. 

Abraham is currently on loan at Aston Villa, but a move to Wolves is in doubt due to FIFA rules preventing players from playing for three different clubs in a season.

The 21-year-old has also played for Chelsea in the Community Shield and at Under-23 level this season, but Wolves hope that FIFA will rule in their favour and allow a move to go through. 

Suarez wants to join Arsenal


Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez wants to join Arsenal this month, according to the Mirror

Arsenal have made the 25-year-old their top target for January, and are hoping to complete a loan move with a £15 million (€17m/$19m) purchase option in the summer. 

Although Suarez has made just two La Liga appearances this season, Barcelona are reluctant to let him leave Camp Nou. 

Ipswich land Quaner on loan from Huddersfield


Ipswich Town have signed striker Collin Quaner on loan from Huddersfield for the remainder of the season. 

The 27-year-old has made just two Premier League appearances for the Terriers this term, and will look to help Ipswich to a great escape with the club currently 10 points from safety in the Championship. 

Preston make loan move for Hart


Championship side Preston have offered Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart the chance to join them on loan, claims The Sun. 

Hart has lost his place at Burnley, where Tom Heaton has taken over as the club's starter in goal. 


FC Dallas sign Acosta as designated player


FC Dallas has signed central midfielder Bryan Acosta from Tenerife as a designated player.

The 25-year-old Honduras international joins after spending two seasons with the Spanish second-divison side. 

Jokanovic turns down Stoke job


Former Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has turned down the chance to take over at Stoke City, The Telegraph reports. 

Stoke manager Gary Rowett was sacked on Tuesday with the club languishing in 14th place in the Championship. 

Jokanovic, who was sacked by Fulham earlier this season, has informed the Potters that he is not interested in being Rowett's replacement. 

PSG make contact over Mendes move


Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with Lille over a potential move for Thiago Mendes, claims Le10Sport

The defensive midfielder is a target for a number of English teams, and PSG are also in the hunt for a new central midfielder with Adrien Rabiot set to depart. 

Lille will demand at least €20 million (£18m/$23m) in any transfer for Mendes.

Chelsea hoping for Silva-Morata swap


Chelsea are hoping to land Andre Silva, who is starring at Sevilla on loan from Milan, according to The Sun. 

Sevilla will refuse to let Silva go unless they have a replacement, and Chelsea are hoping to send Alvaro Morata on loan to the Andalusian club to complete the deal. 

Should Sevilla land Morata they would send Silva back to Milan, who would sell the Portuguese star to the Blues. 

Herrera to sign new Man Utd contract


Ander Herrera will sign a new contract with Manchester United, according to The Sun.  

The midfielder's deal is set to expire at the end of the current season, but he's been convinced to stay by caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 29-year-old moved to Old Trafford in 2014 from Athletic Bilbao. 

Celtic land striker from Slovakian club


Celtic have signed ​striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo from Slovakian club Dunajska Streda. 

The 21-year-old Ivorian has scored 18 goals in 23 games this season, and joins on a four-year deal. 

Gutman likely to sign with Celtic


Indiana University left-back Andrew Gutman is nearing a deal with Celtic, according to The Athletic.

Gutman, 22, was recently on trial with Rangers and also earned a contract offer from Celtic's great rivals. 

But it looks likely the American will land with Celtic, after he did not sign with MLS side Chicago Fire as a homegrown player. 

Sorloth joins Gent on loan


Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth has joined Belgian side Gent on loan for the remainder of the season.

Sorloth has scored just one goal 20 games for Palace since signing from FC Midtjylland in January 2018.

Man Utd won't sign Koulibaly in January


The centre-back is reportedly open to a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have accepted they'll likely have to wait until the summer to sign Napoli centre-back ​Kalidou Koulibaly, reports ESPN FC. 

United hoped to land the 27-year-old this month, but so far Napoli have refused to even negotiate for the Senegalese star. 

Other defensive options for United include Inter's Milan Skriniar, AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli and Leicester's Harry Maguire.

Inter plan another Modric bid


Reports in Italy claim Inter are preparing another bid for Real Madrid midfielder Luca Modric.

The Serie A side attempted to sign the current Ballon d’Or holder last summer, yet their bid was rejected.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are hopeful of securing Modric’s services this month.

Spanish outlet AS, on the other hand, believe any deal to take the Croat to San Siro would have to wait until next summer.

Okaka joins Udinese on loan


Watford forward Stefano Okaka has moved to Udinese until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has struggled for game time at Vicarage Road this campaign and will hope to get more minutes during his short spell in Serie A.

Okaka moved to the Hornets in 2016 and has previously played for a number of Italian clubs inlacing Roma and Sampdoria.


Barcelona confirm Todibo signing


Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo has signed for Barcelona on a free transfer.

The youngster’s contract is set to expire this summer meaning he will join the reigning La Liga champions on July 1.

An official statement from the club stated: “Todibo is a tall, right-footed defender who can play at centre back and also in the centre of the midfield.”

“At just 19 years of age, the young talent comes to FC Barcelona as one of the most promising players in European football in his position.”

Doucoure hints at PSG dream move


Watford midfielder Adboulaye Doucoure has admitted he is extremely fond of PSG, in the same month the Parisian side are linked with a move for the 26-year-old.

“PSG holds an important place in my heart,” he told French TV show RMC Sport.

"They already contacted me [before moving to Watford], but I wanted to move to England at the time.

“I think a club like PSG are looking for a lot of players, they have a lot of leads, I'm not the only one. I'm happy to evolve at Watford and the club trusts me.”

Inter cool interest in Robben deal


Inter are not pursing Dutch winger Arjen Robben, according to Sportmediaset.

Robben’s contract at Bayern is set to expire at the end of the season and the Nerazzurri were rumoured to be keen on the 34-year-old.

However, a deal to bring him to San Siro appears unlikely the Italian outlet claim.

Cagliari have bid accepted for Nandez


Italian side Cagliari have had a bid accepted for Boca midfielder Nahitan Nandez, which could prove good news for Chelsea fans.

A deal for the Uruguayan could free up Nicolo Barella to join this Blues this window, which in turn would allow Cesc Fabregas to move to Monaco.

Chelsea are reportedly readying a bid of £45 million ($57.5m) for Barella.

Spurs consider selling Janssen


Tottenham are thinking about selling Vincent Janssen, according to the Daily Mail.

The forgotten striker, 24, is still on Spurs' books after spending last season out on loan at Fenerbahce, scoring four league goals as he struggled with injury problems.

He has been injured for the entirety of this season so far but could be given a chance to impress after returning to fitness before the Spurs hierarchy decide on his future.

Qatar approach Wenger


Arsene Wenger has been approached over the possibility of coaching the Qatar national team, according to France Football.

The former Arsenal manager has been linked with several clubs - chiefly Bayern Munich - since ending a 22-year association with the Gunners at the end of last season, but has previously expressed a desire to coach a national side.

Qatar are hoping for a big-name manager to ensure the country has the best possible chance of doing well when they host the World Cup in 2022, and Wenger would be a major coup ahead of the showpiece event.


Barcelona open to selling Malcom


Barcelona are open to the idea of selling Malcom despite having just signed him in the summer, but only if they can make a profit from the deal, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The La Liga leaders are aware of interest in the Brazilian winger but have not received any formal offers as of yet. 

Lazio have expressed an interest, but an mammoth bid from China is more likely to exceed the €41m (£36.8m/ $46.94m) fee they shelled out on him just a few months ago.

Benitez blocking Hayden exit


Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is blocking Issac Hayden's move from the club until he can bring in a replacement, despite a bid from West Brom, acoridng to the Express & Star.

The holding midfielder wishes to move closer to his daughter and her mother, who live in south Wales, and handed in a transfer request in the summer but was not sold.

His game time has been limited this season but he has impressed after stepping back into the first-team.

Abraham refuses Wolves move


Tammy Abraham has turned down a move to Wolves to remain on loan with Aston Villa in the Championship, according to Sky Sports.

The striker was widely believed to be on the move to a Wolves side that have impressed since gaining promotion but require a clinical striker to help them win games that they dominate, with Raul Jimenez scoring just six times in the Premier League so far.

And Abraham, who is joint-top of the Championship scoring charts with 16 goals to his name, could well have been the answer, but Chelsea gave him the choice and he has decided to remain with Villa.

Spurs accept £9m Dembele offer


Tottenham have accepted a bid of £9m from Beijing Sinobo Guoan for Mousa Dembele, according to Sky Sports.

The Belgian midfielder is currently sidelined with an ankle injury but had made 13 appearances for Spurs in all competitions before suffering the problem.

The 31-year-old will join Brazil international Renato Augusto and former Villareal striker Cedric Bakambu at his new club.

Fabregas to Monaco on hold


Cesc Fabregas has agreed a three-year deal with Monaco, but whether he moves in January or at the end of the season will be decided by Chelsea's ability to find a replacement for him, according to Sky Sports.

The Spaniard left the field against Nottingham Forest looking emotional in what seemed to be a final appearance in English football, but he may yet be needed if the Blues are unable to sign a midfielder this month.

However, that scenario appears unlikely, with Chelsea reportedly close to deals for Cagliari's Nicolo Barella and Zenit St Petersburg's Leandro Paredes. 

Porto confirm Pepe return


Porto have confirmed the return of defender Pepe to the club on a free transfer via social media.

The central defender terminated his contract with Besiktas by mutual consent last month and has now re-signed for the club he represented between 2004 and 2007, before spending a decade at Real Madrid.

The 35-year-old, tough-tackling defender will hope to help his new side retain their lead at the top of the league table and claim the Primeira Liga title.

Bayern bid £35m for Hudson-Odoi


The Bundesliga side have increased their offer again in an attempt to land their target.

Bayern Munich have reportedly met Chelsea's £35m (€39m/$44.66m) valuation of young winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Sky Sports.

This is the Bundesliga giants' fourth bid for the 18-year-old, who has attracted interest from Juventus and RB Leipzig as well as Bayern.

Hudson-Odoi has 18 months left to run on his current deal and has refused to sign new terms as he looks to force a move through to the reigning Bundesliga champions.

Boateng rules out January exit


Jerome Boateng has ruled out the possibility of a transfer away from Bayern Munich this January.

Despite speculation linking the club with a move for Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez - who can play as a left-back or a centre-back - and his own mixed form, the 30-year-old is determined to stay at Bayern.

Boateng started 11 of 17 possible Bundesliga games in the first half of the season as Bayern rotate between him, Mats Hummels and Niklas Sule at centre-half.

No Liverpool offer for Omur


Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has denied rumours that Liverpool have launched a bid for Abdulkadir Omur.

The Reds have been linked with a man dubbed as the 'Turkish Messi', and the attacking midfielder has registered two goals and four assists in 16 league appearances this season.

However, it appears that no concrete approach has been made for the teenager as yet, as interest grows in the mazy dribbler.

Stoke sack Rowett


Stoke City have confirmed the sacking of manager Gary Rowett via a club statement on their official website.

The Potters are languishing in 14th place in the Championship despite being widely tipped as promotion contenders after retaining much of the squad that was relegated from the Premier League last season.

However, after failing to win any of his last four matches in all competitions, the club have decided to part ways with the former Derby and Birmingham boss.​


Barca keen on Neymar return


The Brazilian could return to his former side next summer.

According to reports in Spain, Neymar met officials from Barcelona last month to discuss a possible move to Camp Nou.

Catalunya Radio claim the 26-year-old spoke with the club’s Brazilian scout Andre Cury in Paris before Christmas, with Barcelona keen to make the deal happen.

The reports also state that the attacker regrets his world-record transfer to PSG in 2017 and is desperate to return to his former club next summer.

Villa eye £10m Reach


Aston Villa are hoping to pinch Adam Reach from fellow Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

The midfielder could cost the Villans as much as £10m ($13m) according to Birmingham Live.

However, the deal could be complicated if new Wednesday new boss Steve Bruce blocks any bids from his former side.

Lazio 'in talks' to sign Zappacosta


Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta could return to Serie A this month, with Lazio keen to secure the 26-year-old’s signature.

Zappacosta could cost Lazio as much as £13m ($17m) according to Sky Sports, who claim a deal is close to being completed.

The full-back joined Chelsea in 2017 but has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Blues side.

Arsenal to beat Man United and AC Milan to Carrasco signing


Belgian international Yannick Carrasco is keen on a move to Arsenal, claims Sky Italia.

The 25-year-old has attracted interest from Manchester United and AC Milan, but Carrasco has reportedly given his ‘approval’ on a move to the Emirates.

The former Atletico Madrid man joined Chinese side Dalian Yifang last year but appears ready for to return to Europe.

Sunderland close in on Burnley defender


Sunderland look set to announce that Burnley’s Jimmy Dunne has joined on loan until the end of the season.

The Chronicle are reporting that a deal to bring the 21-year to the Stadium of Light will go through this week.

Dunne spent the first half of the season on loan with Hearts but returned to Burnley at the turn of the year.

Mkhitaryan could leave Arsenal


The potential arrival of Denis Suarez could lead to Henrikh Mkhitaryan's departure from Arsenal, according to The Sun.

Mkhitaryan, 29, is currently sidelined with a metatarsal fracture and has been criticised at times by Gunners supporters for a lack of influence on games.

Suarez - like the Armenian - can play as an attacking midfielder or out wide, and at 25 represents a more long-term option than his counterpart.

Cardiff eye Nice's Tameze


Cardiff City have made a bid for Nice's Adrien Tameze, according to the Daily Mail.

The Bluebirds have offered £8.5m (€9.48m/$10.85m) for the versatile midfielder, who is primarily a holding player but can be deployed further forward or even out wide.

Tameze has started in every game the club has played so far this season and the 10th-placed Ligue 1 side will be loath to lose such a key member of their squad.

The Frenchman could be on his way to London to replace Morata.

Chelsea are keen on a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, according to the Mirror.

The 31-year-old has notched seven goals and three assists in his 18 La Liga appearances so far this season, and some bookies have suspended betting on the striker's move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are hoping to replace Alvaro Morata, who still looks short of confidence despite scoring twice against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, and the Spaniard has been linked with a move to Sevilla.

Sorensen eyes loan move


Teenage striker Elias Sorensen is eyeing a loan move away from Newcastle as he seeks to prove his worth to Rafa Benitez, according to the Mirror.

The Dane has been in prolific form for the development side, notching 15 goals and two assists in just 16 appearances.

Benitez is yet to make a final decision on the forward's temporary departure, but a host of Championship and League One sides are reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

Reading add Ejaria on loan


Reading have signed 21-year-old Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria on a loan deal through the end of the season, the club announced.

Ejaria has previously featured on loan for Sunderland and Rangers, having played under Steven Gerrard for the first half of this season.

“In Ovie we have signed a player who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, can pass the ball quickly and effectively to make things happen in the final third and who shows a composure which is rare in such a young central midfielder. I am really looking forward to working with him at Reading," said manager Jose Gomes.

Dembele nearing China move


Tottenham are open to selling Moussa Dembele to Beijing Guoan after the club offered £11million for the 31-year-old, according to the Daily Mail.

Spurs have plenty of cover in the midfield and Mauricio Pochettino is open to selling the Belgian.

Dembele is fit again after recently overcoming an ankle issue. 

West Ham bid for Suarez


West Ham have submitted an offer of £20 million ($25m) for Arsenal loan target Denis Suarez, reports The Sun.

Barcelona have previously told the Gunners they do not want to let Suarez leave this month, but West Ham are hoping to swoop for the former Manchester City player.

Suarez, 25, has made just two La Liga appearances this term.

Real target Piatek on loan


Blancos want Pole in position

Real Madrid are looking to sign Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek on loan this month, per Diario AS.

Santiago Solari's side have something of an injury crisis up front, with both Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio consigned to the sidelines.

Eden Hazard has been tipped as a big-money arrival in Madrid in the summer, but Real may need more immediate reinforcements. 

Arsenal approach Brazil director


Arsenal have offered Brazil's technical coordinator, Edu Gaspar, a job as director of football in north London, according to Glob Esporte.

The 40-year-old played for Arsenal between 2001-05 and could now return to the club's hierarchy above Unai Emery.

Juventus and Bayern battle for Hudson-Odoi


The German champions have already made a £30 million ($38m) bid.

Juventus are planning to beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi, reports the Mirror.

Reports claim the Old Lady have already made an offer for Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey and want to bring in the highly-rated 18-year-old as well.

Bayern have already made three offers for Hudson-Odoi, who has stalled talks over a new contract at Stamford Bridge due to a lack of game-time.

Rabiot to join Barca in the summer


Adrian Rabiot has agreed personal terms with Barcelona but will move at the end of the season, claims The Sun.

Rabiot is out of contract in the summer and the Catalan club are keen to make the deal permanent then to avoid paying a transfer fee.

The midfielder has apparently agreed a five-year deal with the Spanish champions.
