Having lost the first meeting 2-0 at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have a moutain to climb if they're to qualify at the Parc des Princes

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's arrival at Manchester United has seen the club's form make a dramatic turnaround.

The only real blot on the Norwegian's copy book in his 16 games in charge is the 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford.

Having seen Ajax upset the odds to knockout Real Madrid, some punters may be considering putting their faith in United to pull off an even bigger upset at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

bet365 have clipped United from 20/1 (21.0) to 18/1 (19.0) at the time of writing and further support for the underdogs could well arrive before kick-off. The home side are just 1/50 (1.02) to secure a spot in the quarter finals.

While PSG backers are sitting pretty, the French club threw away a commanding position in the Champions League two years ago.

4-0 up against Barcelona after the first leg in 2017, the Parisiens crumbled to a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Catalan giants to crash out in the first knockout round having been well-fancied to make a deep run in the competition.

Both sides have big-name absentees to deal with. PSG are without Neymar but Edinson Cavani could feature having missed the first leg. United though, have seen a spate of players suffer injuries in recent weeks, leaving the squad looking stretched.

Paul Pogba is suspended while Solskjaer is unable to call upon Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial. United look short of options in midfield too with Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera both ruled out.

While their results have remained impressive, bet365 make the Premier League side 13/2 (7.50) to win the game and 12/5 (3.40) to score the first goal in Paris. A high-scoring clash is expected with 7/10 (1.70) available on both teams to score and at least three goals available at just 4/7 (1.57).

Wednesday’s other Champions League game looks a much more evenly weighted contest. Porto are narrow 11/10 (2.10) outsiders to qualify against Roma (4/6).

The Italian side hold a 2-1 advantage heading to Estadio Do Dragao where the hosts are 10/11 (1.91) to win the second leg in isolation, which is the minimum they’ll need to in order to make the quarter finals.
