Khouma Babacar, Alfred Duncan on target as Fiorentina hold Sassuolo

Khouma Babacar and Alfred Duncan were on the scoresheet as Sassuolo were held to a 3-3 draw by Fiorentina in Sunday’s Italian Serie A encounter.

After a three-game winless run, Roberto De Zerbi’s men halted the unimpressive performances with a victory over Catania in Wednesday’s Coppa Italian tie and the Senegal and Ghana internationals scored as their side gave up two points at the death.

Midfielder Duncan broke the deadlock in the 62 minutes to put the Black and Greens in front before the Senegal international doubled the lead almost immediately.

Giovanni Simeone halved the deficit in the 70th minute to ignite a comeback for Stefano Pioli’s men. Ten minutes later, Stefano Sensi scored the hosts' third as they looked to pull away, but were dealt a setback after Filip Djuricic was sent off.

The Purple soon capitalised on their numerical advantage as Marco Benassi and Kevin Mirallas - after Nikola Milenkovic's sending off - scored late goals to grab a point for the visitors.

With the stalemate, Sassuolo are eighth in the league standings with 21 points from 15 games.  They take on Frosinone in their next league game on December 16.
