Junior Lokosa warns Kano Pillars to expect a tough game against Enyimba

Kano Pillars’ Junior Lokosa has warned his teammates not to expect an easy game against Enyimba on Sunday in Gombe in the quarter-final of the Federation Cup.

The People’s Elephant and Sai Masu Gida will square up in the last eight of the cup competition with the winner already having Katsina United waiting in the wing as semi-final opponents.

He hinted in a chat that Pillars must put all their emphasis on the quarter-final duel to ensure that they scale through to the semi-final of the competition for the first time since 2012.

Lokosa disclosed that the horrible form of Sai Masu Gida in the Federation Cup in recent seasons has made it pivotal for them to seize this golden chance to bounce back into reckoning in the competition with both hands.

“This is a good chance for us to answer our critics who say that we can never do well in the Federation Cup,” Lokosa told Goal.

“We have tried our best to put ourselves in a good position and we need to come out with all that we have against Enyimba to ensure that we qualify for the semi-final. Enyimba are not a small team and they have a tradition of playing well in the Federation Cup. We must be ready to clip their wing this time and eliminate them.

“I can say that we have prepared very hard for this game and I don’t see Enyimba stopping us from achieving our objective of qualifying for the next round. Kano Pillars have not been doing well in the Federation Cup but I believe this is our season.”

Lokosa emerged as the highest scorer in the just concluded league season with 19 goals from only 22 games and has added two further goals to his kitty from the Federation Cup competition.
