“I can only field the players registered for Caf. The disadvantage we have in the PSL is that the Transfer Window opens in January and the Caf registration window closes in December,” Johnson told Goal .
Dikwena drew 1-1 with Algerian side MC Alger in their first Caf Confederation Cup match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium earlier this month.
“There were seven players we could not register for Caf. So there are players, who cannot play in Caf and they have been playing regularly for us in the PSL,” he said.
“That will make it look like you have taken out your strongest team or strongest players which is not the case. It’s just that they cannot play because they are not registered in Caf. That’s the bottom-line,” Johnson concluded.
Dikwena will meet Swaziland’s Mbabane Swallows in their second Group B clash on Tuesday in Mbabane.
