Bengaluru FC registered their third win on the trot when they beat Kerala Blasters 2-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on Monday. Sunil Chhetri scored the opener for Bengaluru FC which was cancelled by Kerala Blasters' Slavisa Stojanovic at the half-hour mark. But Nikola Krcmarevic's unfortunate own goal tilted the match in favour of the Blues.

Refereeing once again took centre stage as replays confirmed that Chhetri was in an offside position for the opening goal. But Bengaluru FC coach Carles Cuadrat chose to take a backseat when he was asked to comment on the quality of refereeing.

"I don't have an opinion on refereeing. We shouldn't talk so much about the referees. Everything that we talk about them, we are putting pressure on them. All the clubs all over the world have been demanding something from the referees. I understand the situation with Kerala," stated the Bengaluru FC coach.

Bengaluru FC remain unbeaten in the league but the head coach does not want to tag them as favourites.

"Nothing is done. We have to work for the play-offs. We have six games after the break and so we are going into madness. We are just at the start of the season. We have good dynamics. In this league, it doesn't mean a lot to play home or away. It doesn't make a lot of difference. In comparison to last season, most teams have improved and so they can be fighting for the play-offs," said Cuadrat.

On the 73rd minute, Xisco Hernandez was introduced into the game in place of Juanan which proved to be a key substitution as Bengaluru got the winner within eight minutes of the change.

"We have talented players on the bench and we asked them to help us. At that moment, we decided to put Xisco in midfield as Juanan was not feeling alright. And Xisco was involved in the action that gave us the goal," said Cuadrat.

Bengaluru FC play their next match after the international break against FC Goa away from home on November 22.
