ISL 2017: Chennaiyin FC results in pre-season

Chennaiyin FC travelled to Thailand to prepare for the 2017-18 edition of the Indian Super League (ISL). The Super Machans started their Thailand tour on October 11 and are set to return from their Thailand sojourn on November 2 to carry on with their final round of preparations in Chennai.

The Chennai-based side practised in Chennai for 10 days under the watchful eyes of coach John Gregory before leaving for Thailand. Earlier this month Chennaiyin FC announced the signing of Tony Warner as their goalkeeping coach for the 2017-18 campaign of the Indian Super League. Warner joins head coach John Gregory's coaching staff which already includes assistant coaches Mark Lillis and Syed Sabir Pasha and sports scientist Niall Clark.

The Super Machans have played five pre-season games so far, of which they've lost two, won two and drawn one.

In their last pre-season encounter, they took on fellow ISL rivals FC Pune City in a closed-doors match and were held to a 2-2 draw. 

They kick off their tournament against FC Goa at the Marina Arena on November 19.
