Ike Ugbo joins Scunthorpe United on loan from Chelsea

Ike Ugbo has joined Scunthorpe United on loan from Premier League side Chelsea in a deal that runs through till December.

Ugbo began his career with the Blues at U10 level, and started senior football in 2015.

The 19-year-old enjoyed previous loan spell at Championship side Barnsley where he had 17 appearances with one goal across all competition.

On 3 January 2018, the Anglo-Nigerian's deal was terminated, he then joined Milton Keynes Dons where he scored two times in 15 league appearances.

After completing his deal, Ugbo told club website : "I'm really pleased to sign for Scunthorpe and I can't wait to start.

"I think it is a strong team here and good enough to go up this season. Hopefully I can help with that."

Scunthorpe who are currently 18th in the League 1, hope to get a boost from Ike Ugbo as he takes on the number 9 shirt.

The forward could go straight into Stuart McCall’s squad as they visit Wham Stadium for their next League One match against Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
