Ifeanyi Anaemena has praised Theophilus Afelokhai for delivering hope to Enyimba’s Caf Confederation Cup ambition.
Amid little expectation, the goalkeeper steered the People’s Elephant to the quarterfinal after making his debut against Djoliba at Stade Modibo Keita in Bamako.
He has kept three clean slates out of three and coach Usman Abdallah would be counting on him to stop Rayon Sports on Sunday.
The 30-year-old’s performance has not gone unnoticed by captain Anaemena who also bares his mind on the cracker on Sunday.
“Afelokhai has been very outstanding in several matches for us and importantly in the last three Confederation Cup matches where he was simply the man of the match for his many brilliant saves and I give him kudos for that,” he told Caf website.
“Regarding the second leg match against Rayon Sports, we are going to work hard to ensure we win in order to qualify for the semi-finals.
“And we believe the fans will give us the maximum support in Aba on Sunday.”
