The top two teams in Group A of the 2018 2nd Division I-League are separated by five points from the bottom four sides and look set to make it to the final round.

Leading the group are Delhi-based Hindustan FC with 14 points. They beat Lonestar Kashmir 2-1 away from home on Tuesday at the TRC Turf Ground in Srinagar.

After Aakif Javaid (16'), scored his fifth of the tournament to give the home side the lead, Hindustan FC were reduced to 10 men as Mithun Samonto received his marching orders in the 21st minute.

Lonestar seemed to be cruising to a first win but goals from Thomyo Shimray (71') and Kushant Chauhan (79') ensured a come-from-behind win despite the numerical disadvantage.

On Wednesday, at the same venue, Real Kashmir secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Delhi United FC. Atinder Mani (41') scored the only goal of the game.

Things get interersting as they will now host group leaders Hindustan FC on Saturday, who lead them by 2 points after six games each in a top of the table clash.

Lonestar Kashmir have now lost four games on the trot and are bottom with just one point. Delhi United are fourth with six points and will be hosted by Lonestar on Sunday.

The reserve teams of Delhi Dynamos and FC Pune City are the other two sides in the group. However, 'B' teams of Indian Super League (ISL) sides would not go into the final round despite finshing top two.

The next best team will qualify and the battle remains with Delhi United to press Real Kashmir in 2nd place being six points behind them.
