‘Great win great goals’ - Leicester City’s Mahrez delighted with response

Riyad Mahrez has expressed delight following Leicester City’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in Tuesday’s English Premier League encounter.

After Jamie Vardy’s 13th-minute wonder strike gave the Foxes a lead, the 26-year-old - who has come under criticism in recent weeks, and was charged by Claude Puel to up his game prior to the LilyWhites' visit - weighed in with a beauty of his own on the stroke of halftime.

Mahrez skipped past his marker from the right before burying a curler in the top corner of Hugo Lloris’ goal to double the hosts’ lead, thus, rendering Harry Kane’s late goal a consolation.

The Algeria winger took to the social media to express relieve - and admonish the ‘great goals’ - as the Foxes ended a three-game winless run, and clinched their fourth win in the English top-flight this season.

“What a night at the king power stadium, great win great goals thanks to all the fans,” Mahrez wrote on Instagram.
