The Wonder Club's coach has been given another lifeline following support from the top hierarchy despite a slow start to the season

Great Olympics board member Fred Pappoe has rubbished reports circulating in the local media that head coach Godwin Attram has been given a couple of matches to redeem himself following a poor start to the season.

The Accra-based club returned to the top flight after three seasons in the wilderness and have gone two games without a win, picking just a point. However, they have an outstanding game against Bechem United.

They will travel to Tamale on Sunday to lock horns with debutants Bolga All Stars, who will be playing their first-ever home fixture in the top-flight. Bolga are also chasing their first win after losing away fixtures to Ebusua Dwarfs and Aduana Stars and conceding seven goals as a result.

“The board disagrees with calls to sack him from the club or any ultimatum given him," Pappoe told Adehye FM.

“He was the coach when we were in the Division One and supervised all the matches for us to come this far. For us those matches in the second-tier were not different from what we are playing now in the premiership. It is even more difficult to play in the lower division than the top-flight so we believe it’s early days yet to part ways with him.

“He will continue to coach the team and we still keep supporting him so that we will return to winning ways with time,’’ he added.

Olympics will host Wafa in matchday five before they face tricky games against city rivals Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies.
