Gor Mahia threaten to 'expose' Kaizer Chiefs over Godfrey Walusimbi transfer

Gor Mahia have maintained that they have not received any transfer fee for defender Godfrey Walusimbi from Kaizer Chiefs.

On Friday, Goal exclusively reported that the Kenyan champions have given the South African club ten days to pay up the transfer fee for the Ugandan failure to which they have threatened to take the case to higher authorities.

However, Chiefs responded immediately and disputed these claims, saying they have paid for the player while urging the Kenyan club to relax. "I don't know what they are talking about. They were paid. How long does international transfer take?" asked Chiefs' football manager Bobby Motaung when contacted by Goal.

“They're just desperate. What are the foreign laws saying? They must just relax and stop being desperate. Chiefs is a big club and we don't go around owing people. We paid them.”

K’Ogalo CEO Omondi Aduda has insisted that they will not relax and will do everything in their powers to have Amakhosi punished for misrepresenting the facts.

“I ask you to challenge them to show a copy of the swift transfer to prove their claim. We will expose them. Gor Mahia is equally a big club with people, who understand both football and banking laws. We are not mad and smacks bad faith for Bobby to insinuate that we are desperate while demanding for our rights,” Aduda told Goal.

He added: “We can prove that Kaizer Chiefs are not honest in their denial. We have followed the Fifa regulations to the letter in this transfer. Let Chiefs meet part of their bargain.”

Walusimbi has already featured twice for the Glamour Boys this season, and Chiefs will continue using him having signed and registered him legally. At first, Gor Mahia accused Chiefs of tapping Walusimbi, who apparently trained with them without their permission.

Walusimbi was one of the key players as Gor Mahia clinched the 2017 KPL title and also helped the club reach the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup group stage.
