Go Round call off Enugu Rangers, two others friendly ties

The newly-promoted NPFL side have been forced to adjust their pre-season schedules due to involvement in the NNL Super Four

Due to their participation in the Nigeria National league Super Four, Go Round FC have called off proposed friendlies with Enugu Rangers, FC IfeanyiUbah and Abia Warriors which had been fixed for next week.

The Omoku outfit will make their debut in the Nigeria top-flight in the 2017-18 campaign after they finished second behind Heartland in the second division.

But, first, they will participate in the NNL Super Four which decides the overall winner of the league. And with the event holding from January 7 through to January 9, they stand no chance of honouring their proposed tune-ups.

“The schedule of Go Round FC until the start of the season has changed with the recent developments in the league," read a statement from the club.

“We will no longer be able to honour pre-season friendly games against Enugu Rangers, FC IfeanyiUbah and Abia Warriors, earlier scheduled to hold within the next week.

“This is as a result of the NNL statement on Tuesday fixing the Super 4 in Lagos for January 7-9, 2018.

“After the team departed on break for Christmas, the plan was to return to camp on January 2, play games away to Rangers and FC Ifeanyiubah and then end with Abia Warriors at home before departing to Bauchi for the game against Wikki Tourists.

“The team will now depart to Lagos on Saturday for the tournament that will now serve as our preparations for the league opener in Bauchi."
