FC IfeanyiUbah’s Uche Ihuarulam: I got injured when I was in-form

FC IfeanyiUbah’s player of the moment Uche Ihuarulam has stated that he is gutted to miss his team's away trip to Damaturu where they will trade tackles with Yobe Desert Stars in an elite division tie on Sunday.

Ihuarulam has accounted for the Anambra Warriors’ last three goals in the top-flight which have fetched them six important points at their fortress in Nnewi but he suffered a hamstring injury shortly after scoring his second goal in their 2-0 home win over Go Round and he is presently on the treatment table.

The attacker said that he would have loved to travel with his teammates to Damaturu in the chase for more points that will bolster their chances of playing in the playoffs, but after the injury he has tasked his teammates to go and do the club proud against Yobe Desert Stars.

“I am not available now because I got injured in our last game with Go Round,” Ihuarulam told GOAL.

“It was after my second goal in the game and immediately I was substituted I knew it would rule me out for quite some time. I felt a serious pain after I was marked and I was not able to move well again. I knew it would be my last contribution in the game and I am yet to train since then.

“I have gone to start the treatment on the injury so that I can be in time before our next game if possible. The doctor has not told me anything regarding when I will resume training but he told me to rest the injury and that at the right time he will tell me when to return to training.

“The injury came at a time that I was in-form and when I am looking forward to scoring more goals from our away game with Yobe Stars but God knows best. I can only concentrate on getting myself ready for the business end of the season.”

Ihuarulam who moved to FC IfeanyiUbah from Abia Warriors at the start of the second round has scored four goals for the Anambra Warriors to help his team remain in the third spot with 27 points from 15 games in Group B.
