Al Sadd SC's  has been chosen as last week's Fans' Asian Player of the Week, following his impressive performance in his team's 3-1 win over Pakistan in the SAFF Cup 2018.

The on-loan Villarreal player scored a goal and won a penalty and was also named Toyota Asian Player of the Week. 

With Al Sadd leading 3-1 from the first leg, Afif burst into the box to open the scoring with a low, angled drive before, with his side 2-1 down on the night, the 21-year-old was brought down for a penalty in injury time as the hosts salvaged a 2-2 draw to advance.

Also in the fray for the honour were Serginho and Hiroki Abe of Kashima Antlers who were also impressive in their team's win. 

But the fans made their voice count as Afif received a whopping majority of the votes.
