The 31-year-old former Bucs defender says he is unaware of Lidoda Duvha interest but hopes his agent will find him a club soon

Having left Orlando Pirates at the end of the 2017/18 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season, defender Ayanda Gcaba says he is weighing his options at the moment.

The versatile defender parted ways with the Sea Robbers after ending his loan deal with Platinum Stars (Cape Umoya United) and exclusively told Goal that he is yet to find a new club.

Despite reports that he is on his way to newly-promoted Black Leopards, Gcaba remains unsure about his future.

The former Free State Stars defender says the ongoing case involving Ajax Cape Town and the PSL could potentially have affected Lidoda Duvha's advances.

Gcaba joined the Buccaneers in 2012 from Ea Lla Koto and was key in their quest to bag their second Caf Champions League trophy in 2013 as they lost to Al Ahly of Egypt.

However, he helped the Johannesburg-based club lift the Nedbank Cup in 2014 and due to his experience in the top flight, he will be hpoing to soon find a new football home just before the start of the new season.

The 31-year-old Port Shepstone-born player recently said he is open to joining one of the KwaZulu-Natal PSL sides in Maritzburg United, AmaZulu FC and Lamontville Golden Arrows.

Although, he was a regular under coach Eric Tinkler and Roger De Sa, he fell down the pecking order since the arrival of Mulitin Sredojevic and was subsequently loaned out to Dikwena.

“I left Pirates and I am training alone at home, I am hoping to find a new club, but there is nothing so far,” Gcaba told Goal on Thursday.

“But for now, I am at home and there are no offers as yet, I will see what will happen," he said.

“I really don’t know about know Black Leopards because there is still this PSL case about the play-offs and I cannot really comment on that for now because I do not have enough information," he continued.

“I am training alone now, but let’s see what happens with the PSL case involving Leopards and we will know about my future - I hope my agent Makaab will find something,” concluded the Bafana Bafana defender.

The towering defender formed part of coach Shakes Mashaba’s Bafana squad at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals in Equatorial Guinea/Gabon.
