Week 1 of the Premier League is in the books, and it is time for everyone to start jumping to conclusions about who will be relegated and who will challenge for the championship.

Liverpool barely escaped with points against Fulham, while Manchester United fell flat against a prepared Brighton squad at home.

Week 2 is when we start to see what surprises were for real and which were a mirage. Read ahead for more EPL betting advice for Matchweek 2.

EPL Matchweek 2 Betting Tips

There are many intriguing matchups this week, with none more exciting than the London Derby between Chelsea and Tottenham.

However, many of the best bets in Week 2 are from outside of the Big 6. Brighton will look to grab their second victory of the season in their home opener, but will have to go through Eddie Howe and Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will look to avenge their Week 1 defeat when they travel to Brentford, who put up a fight during their first match of the season with Leicester City.

What will happen in Week 2? Here are some of my favorite best bets for this weekend in the Premier League.

All odds are courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook and current as of Monday, Aug. 8, as of 10 a.m. ET.

Wolverhampton vs. Fulham Best Bet

Fulham Win & Both Teams Score (+525)

WAGER: 1 unit

Aleksandar Mitrović is back in the Premier League and is ready to make some noise. The Serbian striker announced his presence with authority in Week 1 when he earned a brace against Liverpool during Fulham’s shocking Week 1 draw with the Reds.

The Wolves opened their season with a disappointing loss to Leeds on the road, which included a game-losing own goal by left back Rayan Aït-Nouri.

I expect Wolverhampton to have a stronger showing during their first home match of the season, but at +525 odds, we are going to toss our support on Fulham to keep the magic alive for another week.

Brighton vs. Newcastle United Best Bet

Newcastle Win & UNDER 2.5 Combined Goals (+475)

WAGER: 1 unit

After a strong showing against Manchester City that resulted in a 2-1 victory, Graham Potter and Brighton are going to receive a ton of betting support.

The respect is well earned, but I expect their showdown with Newcastle to be a tight, low-scoring battle. A draw would be an unsurprising result, but at +475, we are going to throw our money on Magpies to pull out the win.

Bruno Guimarães was a brilliant table-setter against Nottingham Forest in Week 1, but his efforts were not converted to goals due to Miguel Almiron’s apprehension to attack. Luckily, Fabian Schär and Callum Wilson broke through in the second half, which may be the difference maker in their match with Brighton.

Aston Villa vs. Everton Best Bet

Aston Villa Wins (-115)

WAGER: 1 unit

Since Steven Gerrard took over as Aston Villa’s manager last November, the club has been on an upward trajectory. The Villans then added center back Diego Carlos and attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer to take the next step forward.

Unfortunately, Aston Villa’s season did not get off to a good start after suffering a Week 1 loss to recently promoted Bournemouth 2-0.

Look for Gerrard to right the ship at home against a banged-up Everton squad, who will be without center back Ben Godfrey, who suffered a gruesome ankle injury against Chelsea on Saturday. The Toffees are also still without a proper striker after the loss of Richarlison in the offseason and an injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Bet on Aston Villa to take care of business at Villa Park and pick up three points this weekend.

Manchester City vs. AFC Bournemouth Best Bet

Manchester City Win 1:0, 2:0, 3:0 & Correct Score 4:0 (+135 & +600)

WAGER: 1 unit

It is often difficult to profit off the juggernaut that is Manchester City, so we are going to get a bit creative for their matchup with Bournemouth, who are coming off an impressive showing against Aston Villa.

A clean sheet seems like a probable but low-EV (expected value) scenario from a betting perspective, so we will be more specific in our intentions by combining two exact score props.

Rather than create a parlay to manufacture value, bet on Man City to win a Multiple Correct Score wager (covering 1:0,2:0,3:0) at +135 while adding a fixed Exact Score bet to cover a 4:0 outcome.

If hunting for a clean sheet wager, this is the best road to profit, covering the four likeliest exact scores with Manchester City winning to nil.
