The Flying Antelopes failed to beat the Pride of Benue for the third time this season after they were held to a 1-1 draw in Enugu

Lobi Stars continued their dominant performance over Enugu Rangers this season on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu after they held the Flying Antelopes to a 1-1 draw in a mid-season friendly match.

It is the third time Gbenga Ogunbote’s men will face the Pride of Benue and on each occasion, they have avoided a defeat including the 2-1 win in Enugu in the league at the beginning of the current season.

Rangers came all out this term to ensure they stop the streak of the league leaders and it was no surprise they scored the curtain raiser in the 25th minute through Ifeanyi George and they held on to that lead for the remainder of the first half.

At the start of the second half, Solomon Ogbeide effected some changes and armed also with the halftime pep talk, Lobi Stars stormed back to life and started troubling their hosts.

Their effort was rewarded in the 63rd minute when their skipper, Anthony Agbaji found the back of the net for their much-sought equaliser.

Lobi Stars seemed comfortable with an away draw and they defended in numbers while Rangers kept piling up pressure without result as the game ended 1-1 to the disappointment of their fans who had thronged the stadium expecting a win to atone for their two consecutive losses to the Makurdi side.
