Donsah signs Bologna contract extension until 2022

Italian Serie A side Bologna have confirmed a contract extension for Ghana midfielder Godfred Donsah that will see him tied to the club until 2022.

The 22-year-old's deal with the Red and Blues was set to expire this summer, with reports of interest from several clubs, including Everton.

However, a meeting with coach Filippo Inzaghi this week led to the player’s decision.

"We can announce that a contract extension has been agreed with Godfred Donsah with him signing a new deal which runs until June 30, 2022," a club statement read.

"We're happy with this decision and wish him all the best as he continues to stay with us," the statement added.

Donsah, who boasts of 64 appearances with Bologna, joined Palermo in 2012 before moving on to Verona and Cagliari.

He has one international appearance with Ghana, playing against Egypt in 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
