Danlami Umar unfazed by Nasarawa United's unimpressive pre-season

Danlami Umar is confident that Nasarawa United will come good after enduring unimpressive performances in pre-season so far.

The Kabiru Dogo men have been beaten thrice by Wikki Tourist, Katsina United and Enyimba, but Umar affirms that they would learn from their woeful tune-ups contests in the Kano.

“It is painful that we have lost [three] matches. We are just trying to raise a team after some of our players left for another club,” Umar told Goal.

"We left with about 40 players and our coaches have given all of them the opportunity to showcase what they have.

“We will be better at the end of the pre-season activities. We still have a couple of games to play here and I am sure we are going to get improved results.

“Everyone will be surprised at what we are going to come up with at the end of the pre-season. I know that the players we have with us will come good. We are really working hard to ensure that we are prepared for the start of the season.”

The Solid Miners finished fifth in the Nigeria Professional Football League standings at the end of the 2016-17 season.
