The defending champions have a strong record on the road in the Champions League and we are backing them to record a low-scoring win in Moscow

Real Madrid's best performance under new manager Julen Lopetegui came on matchday one of the Champions League as they demolished Roma 3-0 at the Bernabeu.

However, in their two La Liga matches since then, Los Blancos have failed to score a goal - losing 3-0 at Sevilla last Wednesday before being held to a 0-0 draw by Atletico Madrid.

The trip to Russia comes at a testing time for Lopetegui, with his side looking for some consistency after a slightly uneven start to the season.

Latest odds

The defending champions are offered at just 6/10 (1.60) with SportPesa for a win on Tuesday, while hosts CSKA Moscow can be backed at 49/10 (5.90) and the draw is available at 31/10 (4.10).

Team news

Madrid head to Moscow with a number of injury concerns. Isco and Marcelo are unavailable while Gareth Bale went off on Saturday night at half time against Atletico and is unlikely to play on Tuesday.

CSKA will be missing Uruguyan forward Abel Hernandez, who remains injured.

Preview

Unlike Real Madrid's impressive start, CSKA needed an injury time penalty to salvage a 2-2 draw at Viktora Plzen in their opening Champions League game.

Last season, the Russians lost two of their three home groups games with Manchester United and Basel both triumphing at the VEB Arena.

This does not bode well for the hosts as Madrid have won nine of their last 11 away games in the competition, scoring in 13 successive matches on the road.

Los Blancos, therefore, should be able to find a way through against a CSKA side that has kept one clean in their last 35 Champions League matches.

Tips and predictions

After a long trip and a difficult week we should not expect Real Madrid to run riot in Moscow, but the price of 29/20 (2.45) for an away win and under 3.5 goals in the game looks to be an excellent option.
