“I have just signed a two-year contract with Yobe Desert Stars and I will say that I am satisfied with the whole arrangements,” Elechi told Goal.

“Everything happened so fast and without much stress. I was invited for talks for like three times and at each of my visits, I saw the determination in the club’s General Manager, Abubakar Ago to have me work with them. It didn’t take a long time for me to make up my mind once I saw the contract papers and was satisfied with the whole arrangements.

“I have seen the players on the ground and I have come to turn Yobe Desert Stars into a team that will play good football and achieves good results too. I was able to make Go Round great out of nothing and I am ready to do likewise too with this club. I want the players to be serious and the members of the management of the club to do their part to ensure that everything goes well.”

He confirmed that he won’t be making many changes with the players with the team last season and that he has started concerted effort to ensure that he convinced some of the players with the team that want to leave for other clubs to have a rethink.

“I have started talking to some of the players of the team that have indicated interest to leave for other clubs to have a rethink and return back to ensure that we build a solid team,” he continued.

“The team is not short of experienced players and I have taken time to analyze what went wrong with the team after they had a good start to last season. There are a few issues here and there but we are to correct those issues this term. We shall be involved in an abridged league and we won’t much time to atone for errors. We must be serious from the beginning to the end of the season.”
