Sofapaka have received a major boost with the return from injury of forward Mervin Otinya ahead of GOtv Shield action this weekend.

Batoto Ba Mungu will lock horns with fellow Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks at Kinoru Stadium in Meru County on Sunday. The left-footed winger cum striker suffered an injury blow on his right leg earlier this month, which saw him miss Sofapaka trip to Thika over the weekend.

“Otinya has recovered very well and is back to normal training with his teammates since his injury was not all that dreadful. He can now make runs and shoots," team physiotherapist Ambrose Eriko told the club's official website.

Sofapaka edged out Nairobi Stima by a solitary goal to sail through to the last 16 while Sharks tossed out lower side Kenpoly.
